Dear (I wish I knew your name: the guy who taught the beginner strum on
YouTube; dark-haired, nice guy),

This is going to sound crazy, but in the last twenty minutes I¹ve learned
more about playing this guitar of mine than the last year of trying to
figure it out on my own. I¹ve got that Strumming pattern #1 down solid,
played Em and easy A patterns, and can even do that all-downstroke strum for
Coldplay¹s Clocks. (And I love that you use cool music like Coldplay; keep
up the good work in that department!)

Incredible. I feel as though there¹s actually hope for me. This is not a
phony email. I¹m a 52-year-old woman from Vancouver, B.C. I¹ve always loved
the idea of being able to play simple songs and sound okay, and the gap
between me and that goal seemed impossible to bridge. I looked at some other
how-to clips on YouTube and they just confused me; it¹s amazing how almost
everyone leaves out the darn strum, leaving us newbies hopelessly lost and
sounding so pathetic and feeling so talentless.

The ³even learning curve² you mention is such an intelligent approach. Just
adding that drum beat to the strumming pattern helped me hear how it worked
much better than just the guitar alone, which some other clips had. I¹m no
expert on comparisons, just having decided to go to YouTube for the very
first time this evening for this, but everything about your lessons,
including the nice, calm, reassuring guy (you?) showing us how to do it,
seems to be very well done.

I was afraid to take lessons since I figured they would cost more than I
could afford, but I¹m seriously tempted to sign up with you. Just wondering,
if we join, can we ever contact you with a question every now and then??

I Have Been Trying To Play Songs On The Guitar For Thirty Five Years

Without Much Success. I Have Had Private Guitar Tuition And Bought
Numerous Guitar Courses And Still Could Not Make The Transition To
Playing Songs. I Could Never Figure Out Which Rhythm To Put To A
Particular Song. Since Purchasing Your Guitar Course I Am Now Coming On
Really Well And Am Playing Songs From Your Song Book.

Paul: I wanted to let you know that I have worked very hard on your lessons and it really has made a big difference in my playing. Your instruction on right hand technique has been a big help. Most other online instructors leave the right hand out entirely. I do hope you expand your hybrid playing series. I am making some assumptions on strumming based upon the two lessons on the site, which may turn out to be erroneous. In any event, I have bought in to your electric guitar site. Sir,
I am enjoying the course very much so far. I haven't played guitar for nearly 40 years and I am having great fun with it now. I did try the Jamorama on line course but really did not like it very much. One question I have is this---how do I access the Course book. You refer to it, for example, in the video on Dominant 7 chords. Also, could you suggest a strum for the Willie Nelson song YOU WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND?

I've been working on the guitar course and out of all the online lessons i've checked out(and that's a lot) and dvd's ive got this is by far the best.I'm learning a lot faster and i only got the course yesterday.

I've been playing for about 4 years (self-taught) and was trying to  get to the next level.  Your website is by far the best that I've  found! Your videos clearly demonstrate both the chords, the chord  progression, and the strumming techniques for each song. Even  better, you show the lessons and songs on acoustic guitar and do not 
assume that everyone wants to be a "guitar god". Keep up the great work!

heya, im sure you hear this all the time, but you are truley amazing. my uncle bought me an acoustic guitar 4 years ago and i have only recently got into playing. i love playing but im not very good.(yet!) I love the eagles and most of the songs sound too hard to play, but from watching your vids on youtube i think im getting there!! keep doing what you are doing, i find your vids very easy to follow and always a pleasure to watch, thanks, laura,

I have to confess I was rather sceptical when I subscribed to your site, I've seen all manner of fabulous systems to achieve fast results in this or that, all of which seemed to go to be true and indeed were. Thanks for all of the e-mails with the learner tips. They are great.You are making guitar learning simple. My confidence is steadily improving as my skills get honed more and more. Me with guitar skills was not a phrase on my radar until I discovered your site. You make it seem so easy. When I pick up the guitarat first, I go through all of the progressions that were involved with the 4 beginner lessons. My fingers are actually starting to find the proper strings that make a chord faster and faster. Sometimes without looking. Practice! Practice! Practice! Just been on this site for about three weeks and became a member,have been really intrigued and excited about what I am seeing. It has been approx thirty years since I last picked up a guitar,getting back into it is going to be a lot simpler than I figured,this site is fantastic.Where was this thirty years ago! My wife bought an Esteban guitar and instruction DVD set for my 10 y/o daughter.  The first DVD was ok then BAM it went into playing what I thought were songs that were way too hard for a beginner.  It seems like the entire beginner lessons were skipped!!  Thats when I starting looking on the internet for some instructions and found your site.  It has been a tremendous resourse!!!!  I've always had an interest and now I'm taking your lessions too.  Thanks for your awsome and clear instructions!!

I found the quality of tuition on your videos to be first rate. I decided to use your program to start my son learning the guitar after viewing a larger number of other sites which provide on-line lessons (many sacrificed substance for style or in some cases had neither). However, I found your approach to significantly better than the vast majority of sites, in that you do an excellent job in explaining rudiments, as well as incorporating theory into the practical in a systematic and accessible manner.
