The first 2 progressions on this video have been used by countless songs ever since the 1950′s and are considered all-time classics. You’ll find them used in lots of songs and some tunes may even have instantly popped into your head as I was playing them on the video.

Eventually you’ll build up an entire library of progressions you can play and most of them will be directly related to songs. As you can see from the video, it’s possible to play any progression in a variety of different ways, it’s just a matter of applying a different guitar technique or strumming pattern to them.
