As you search through the web and YouTube trying to find guitar websites you’ll inevitably come across fantastic claims such as “Learn guitar fast!” or “Learn guitar in just 30 days!” So what’s the real story?
Well certainly there are still some old fashioned methods out there which I wouldn’t advise you to learn from. In recent years however new and more modern methods to learn guitar quickly have been developed and they far exceed the older styles of learning.
To this extent the claim of an improved method for learning guitar is not a scam, it does exist. Everything after that however you must read with caution!
Here’s the real deal…
Your ability to learn guitar rapidly depends not only on the method you choose to learn guitar with but also upon your natural, inbuilt ability to play guitar. Each person is going to learn and improve at their own unique rate.
This is called your aptitude for the instrument. In other words, how quickly you can pick it up and it’s different for each student. How fast we learn anything is relative to our natural aptitude!
This is one area which many people do not understand. Even if you have the best method to learn guitar, practice a lot and apply yourself, your rate of improvement may still be slower than someone with a more natural aptitude for learning the instrument.
It’s pointless to become frustrated over this; it’s what you were born with just the same as the color of your eyes! You see there is no universal solution to learning guitar fast, only better methods and worse ones.
But hey who cares! So what if it takes you longer to learn those chord changes or strums, eventually you will still arrive at the same destination. Here’s the important part…
You must choose a method for learning guitar which really understands how beginners learn. By selecting poor quality guitar lessons you could potentially hold up your improvement for months, get frustrated, think you have no talent and give up.
What a shame when in fact all that was wrong was the method you chose to learn guitar was simply old fashioned, out of date and ineffective.
So can you really learn guitar quickly? Sure, but choose your method wisely!
